Wildlife at Fairmount Park Riverside, CA

Fairmount Park's two lakes -- Fairmount Lake and the larger Lake Evans -- are wonderful habitats for birds. Different species migrate here for the winter, and provide many opportunities for photographers. Below: Snowy Egret (Egretta Thula) flying in to join American Pelicans (Pelecanus erythrorhynchos) and Great Egret(Ardea alba).

There are two small islands in Lake Evans which are undisturbed, providing for the birds a natural environment and protection at night from coyotes.
