Dia De Muertos |
Dia de Muertos (Day of the Dead) has been a traditional Mexican cultural event dating back to Aztec festivals dedicated to the goddess Mictecacihuatl - "Lady of the dead."
Celebrating the cycle of life and death with reverence and respect, families set up displays —ofrendas — honoring their deceased relatives. In Riverside, the celebration has become a grand street festival each November with food vendors and live music, adjacent to downtown White Park where people set up their displays. |
