The American Coot is not a true duck because it does not have webbing between the toes. Rather, it has flaps that help it navigate on land.

These gulls like to steal food from other birds. Here, they swoop down into the middle of Coots who are being thrown scraps of bread from people on the shore. The gulls snatch the bread from the Coots.
