In the last few years of Dr. Jaeger's life, Jack composed the Palaver Invitations, beginning with Palaver 53 in May, 1981 through Palaver 57 in April, 1983. He signed them, "Jack Harris for Dr. Edmund C. Jaeger."
The invitation for Palaver 58 in October, 1983 began, "On August 13, 1983, 96 friends and associates, braved a hot, humid afternoon in Riverside, to pay their last respects to Dr. Edmund C. Jaeger. After 96 birthdays, Dr. Jaeger died peacefully in his home on August 2, 1983... Jack closed that invitation: "With your help for the successful continuation of the Palavers - Jack Harris." 
And so began 26 years of dedication to the successful continuation of the Palavers as the "Palaver Coordinator," as Jack often signed the Palaver Invitations. |
