Pelargonium carnosum

Pelargonium carnosum (no common name) is a member of the Geranium family, Geraniaceae. Characteristic of this family is the long seed pod, sometimes nicknamed "storkbill." Geranos is the Greek word for a crane, and the long pods resemble a beak.

The pointed "beak" is the Mericarp which holds the seed.When the seeds ripen, the beak opens and the seeds are thrown out. The pods twist revealing the fine thread that held everything together.	They twist depending on the amount of moisture in the air.
